Briante Weber has signed with French team Metropolitans 92 for next season.
Weber has bounced around the NBA during his young career, playing with five teams. He split last season between the G-League and Olympiacos in Greece.

The Heat have waived guard Briante Weber.
Weber agreed to a training camp deal in August but wasn’t able to earn a spot on Miami’s final 15-man roster.

Briante Weber will play for the Miami Heat in summer league.
Weber signed a three-year deal with the Heat in April and will hope to carve out a role for himself in the team’s 2016-17 rotation. While the 23-year-old is worth a look in deeper fantasy leagues, he won’t be much more than waiver wire fodder in most fantasy leagues next season.
  • DET Point Guard #19
Beno Udrih has reportedly agreed to re-sign with the Heat on a one-year deal.
Udrih will serve as the third-string point guard on the depth chart, which likely means that Briante Weber will be spending most of the year in the D-League. Udrih won’t be worth drafting anywhere.
  • DET Point Guard #19
The Heat have reportedly been having ongoing discussions with unrestricted free agent Beno Udrih.
Miami already has 15 players on their roster, so if Udrih does wind up re-upping with Miami for the veteran’s minimum, someone would have to go. Briante Weber or Rodney McGruder would be the most likely cut candidates should Udrih sign in Miami.
  • Power Forward #12
Justise Winslow, Josh Richardson and Briante Weber are not playing on Friday vs. the Thunder.
The Heat are simply giving them a maintenance day since they played on Thursday. Richardson and Winslow could both be in the starting lineup for the Heat next season which puts them on the standard league radar, while Weber could compete for the backup PG role if Tyler Johnson joins the Nets.
  • Point Guard #4
Briante Weber said that he needs to be more aggressive if opposing teams keep leaving him open.
“One thing about it is most teams are going to give me the shot, so I’ve got to be ready to shoot it and then knock it down with confidence,” Weber said. “For sure, I definitely need to get back into the confident way of just scoring the basketball.” Weber is a talented defender and averaged 3.8 steals per game in Orlando to go with 7.2 points, 5.8 boards and 4.0 assists, but he shot just 37.1 percent from the field. The Heat could lose Tyler Johnson to the Nets if they don’t match his offer by Sunday, so Weber could potentially compete for the backup PG role next season.
  • Point Guard #4
Briante Weber has signed to play in the D-League.
Weber will join the Sioux Falls Skyforce to begin the season, but is very unlikely to have any fantasy value in 2016-17.
  • Point Guard #4
Briante Weber will be in the starting lineup for Thursday’s preseason game against the Hornets, with Goran Dragic (rest) unavailable.
Dion Waiters, Wayne Ellington, Derrick Williams and Hassan Whiteside (personal) will join Weber in the starting unit for tonight’s game. Weber is a solid defender, but he won’t see enough minutes this season while the team is at full strength to make a difference in fantasy hoops. It’s worth pointing out that this will be Williams’ fifth consecutive start at power forward, so it looks like he’ll be starting for Miami on opening night.

    Heat waive G Briante Weber.
Weber had a chance of making the team after spending time with Miami last season, but he was outplayed by Rodney McGruder. He’s once again a possibility to join the Heat’s D-League team.
