Coach Larry Brown isn’t happy that Delfino isn’t yet available due to a bruised knee. “Carlos needs to learn the difference between being hurt and being injured,” Brown said.

When he does come back, most likely Smush Parker will be deactivated.

“I think we’ll probably bring Ronald (Dupree),” Brown said. He’ll have a chance. I feel sorry I’ve got to play Tayshaun (Prince) a lot of minutes. Maybe Ronald can ease that a little bit.”

He is expected to be re-evaluated next week.

There is still no definite timetable for Delfino’s return to full practice.

Delfino won’t play tonight, but could be ready at some point during the Pistons’ six-game West Coast trip that begins Friday.

No damage was found to the ligaments or cartilege. Delfino will return to Detroit Jan. 27-28, at which time he’ll be seen by team doctors and have a timetable established for his return.

He wants more playing time, so a team like the Raptors might be interested in his services next year.

Delfino suffered the injury on Monday and did not play on Tuesday. The fact that he’s already been ruled for Friday supports the notion that it could be a serious injury. Delfino said he was in substantial pain after exiting Monday’s game. Luc Richard Mbah a Moute should start once again in Delfino’s place, and has averaged 7.9 points, 5.2 rebounds and 0.9 steals in 16 games as a starter this year.

Delfino has a very fantasy-friendly game, but can never seem to stay healthy. It looks like Delfino will miss both games this weekend, with Luc Richard Mbah a Moute and Mike Dunleavy set to continue to get more minutes in his place.
