The Wolves waived Darius Johnson-Odom, Canyon Barry, William Lee, and Jonathan Stark.
Johnson-Odom played in Italy last season and will likely head back overseas after an eventful training camp with the Wolves
  • Shooting Guard #13
GM Mitch Kupchak is reportedly “noncommittal” on keeping second-round pick Darius Johnson-Odom.
The Lakers currently have 12 players under contract not including Devin Ebanks, who is expected to re-sign with the team. As a result, Johnson-Odom will have to play very well in training camp to make the Lakers’ final roster, but even if he does, it’s highly unlikely he’ll have a regular role in the rotation at any point during the season.
  • Shooting Guard #13
The Lakers purchased the rights to Marquette SG Darius Johnson-Odom with the No. 55 pick in the 2012 NBA Draft (by way of the Mavs).
If Johnson-Odom stood taller than 6'3" he would be an easier sell to NBA GMs, but he never developed point guard skills and he has holes in his offensive game. Still, he can shoot and his athleticism gives him a puncher’s chance at success in the NBA. His first step will be making the Lakers’ roster.
  • Shooting Guard #13
Marquette SG Darius Johnson-Odom will join five other prospects for a workout with the Bucks on Sunday.
The group is mostly under-the-radar guards whom the Bucks would target with the No. 42 pick -- it’s believed they’ll target a big man with their No. 12 pick, such as Ohio State’s Jared Sullinger or North Carolina’s Tyler Zeller.
  • Shooting Guard #13
Darius Johnson-Odom has impressed coaches with his athleticism.
Unfortunately for DJO, he’ll need to show more than athleticism to have a legitimate shot of making the final roster. He’s an energy guy, and that will help his case to stick around, but he sorely needs to improve his raw offensive game.
  • Shooting Guard #13
Darius Johnson-Odom was signed by LAK on Monday November 12.
  • Shooting Guard #13
The Lakers assigned Darius Johnson-Odom to the D-League on Sunday.
He’ll join the L.A. D-Fenders for now and the Lakers might be calling him back up to warm their bench in the future. He has no fantasy value.
  • Point Guard #0
The Los Angeles Times believes that both Andrew Goudelock and rookie Darius Johnson-Odom are “longshots” to make the roster.
Goudelock isn’t a point guard and doesn’t have the size to play significant minutes at SG, so this isn’t entirely surprising. Johnson-Odom has great athleticism, but he was a second-round pick and the Lakers’ massive payroll is playing against both guys as each is on a non-guaranteed deal. Robert Sacre appears to be the favorite for the final spot.
  • Shooting Guard #13
Darius Johnson-Odom could soon be waived by the Lakers.
The second-round pick is highly athletic, but the Lakers are highly unlikely to keep him around given the current construction of the roster.
  • LAL Small Forward
    Lakers sign F Reeves Nelson.
Nelson will get a one-year deal (non-guaranteed) with a chance to make the team. It’s going to be tough for him to crack the final roster, but Nelson’s signing may be an indication that second-round pick Darius Johnson-Odom, who remains unsigned, is nowhere near a lock to stick with the team.
