The Wolves could replace team president and GM David Kahn with former coach Flip Saunders prior to the start of the 2013-14 season, according to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune.
Flip coached the Wolves from 1995-2005 and he has been advising team owner Glen Taylor this season, which seems to be fueling the speculation. Rick Adelman has three more years on his contract but his future with the team is also uncertain -- he nearly resigned when his wife became ill this season, and Star-Tribune writer Sid Hartman theorizes that “Saunders [could end up] coaching as well as being general manager if Adelman leaves.” We will reiterate that for now this is simple speculation, but it sounds like big changes could be afoot in Minnesota.
