The Charlotte Bobcats hired Dell Curry as an assistant coach Monday, while former assistant John Outlaw was named director of pro player personnel.
Curry had served as the Bobcats’ director of player development and will join first-year coach Sam Vincent’s staff, which includes Phil Ford, Lee Rose, Jeff Capel and Paul Mokeski. Outlaw will take over many of Curry’s former duties, as the Bobcats staff under Michael Jordan appears to finally be in place.

Dell Curry has stepped down as an assistant coach for the Bobcats.
Curry said he planned to stay with the organization in another role. Previously, he worked with the Bobcats as a player mentor. He has two sons who also play basketball -- one a star at Davidson, the other planning to play for Liberty. His replacement has yet to be named by head coach Sam Vincent.
