It was Johnson’s first game action since last September’s car accident. Some team will take a chance on the 2000 first-round pick this summer, but it’s uncertain whether he’ll receive any meaningful playing time next season.

Nene started the last game, but Johnson came out with the second half starters to score 18 points.

Well, if you need a one-game scorer, Johnson might help.

Johnson, a former lottery pick, hasn’t hit a shot yet, but Wilkens likes what he’s shown in practice.

Johnson has made a lot of progress since nearly losing his left in car accident in September. He won’t be allowed to play in a game this season, but he should resume contact drills soon.

Johnson is not expected to get into a game this month.

Even after signing Greg Buckner and Rodney White, the Nuggets don’t feel comfortable with their swingmen. Johnson averaged 5.4 points and 1.9 rebounds in 21 games with the Knicks last season.

Johnson had just two points in 15 minutes and Rodney White (nine point on 4-of-8 shooting) will probably win the starting job unless the Nuggets decide to move Carmelo Anthony to shooting guard. Regardless of what happens, neither Johnson or White probably have much fantasy value at this point.

Nene started in place of Carmelo Anthony, but it was Johnson who received the majority of the time at small forward. He had played a total of 24 minutes this month.

Boykins had just eight points off the bench, but the fact that the Nuggets offense scored 107 points could mean Johnson will stay in the lineup.
