The Kings don’t yet have any real idea whether Doug Christie will be ready for the season opener.

“I have no idea when we’re going to get Doug or Greg,” Adelman said, referring to Christie’s foot injury and Ostertag’s broken hand. “I don’t think we’re going to have Greg (for the season opener). And even if Doug is going to play, how much will he really be able to play?” If Christie isn’t ready, it’s expected that Bobby Jackson will start at shooting guard.

Doug Christie, hampered by tender foot tissue, played a season-high 34 minutes and contributing 10 points, six assists, four steals and two blocked shots on Saturday against the Suns.

Good news for Christie owners. Hopefully the plantar fasciitis has run its course and his foot problems are behind him now.

Doug Christie continues to play through an assortment of injuries.

His latest is a right shoulder sprain. “If I had the time,” said a member of the Kings’ basketball operations staff, “we could write a book about the number and types of injuries that guy plays with.”

With Orlando’s defense continually being exposed, coach Johnny Davis could return forward Hedo Turkoglu to the bench and start Doug Christie.

The only question is why this wasn’t done six games ago. Davis said he has stayed with Turkoglu to “play out that roll” while the shooter was hot. In most cases that would be understandable, but Christie was brought in specifically because the Magic can’t defend, not because they can’t score.

Doug Christie is suffering from plantar fasciitis, but he plans to keep playing.

Because of the injury, coach rick Adelman said he intends to keep Christie on the floor more. “When Doug sits, he gets stiff, and it makes it hard for him to play,” he said. “So I don’t want to let that thing get cold. I want him to keep it loose and warm.”

The Mavericks are reportedly interested in signing controversial guard Doug Christie.

They like his defensive skills and would use him off the bench.

It’s being reported the Magic will use the amnesty clause and release Doug Christie by the end of the weekend.

Not surprising, but it’s kind of sad that players can dictate where they will and won’t play. Orlando is making moves the Clippers of yesteryear would be proud of, by trading Cuttino Mobley (which disrupted the team chemistry in Orlando) for Doug Christie (who never showed up) and drafting Fran Vazquez in the first round this year, only to learn that he had no intentions of playing in the NBA in the near future. Nice job.

The Mavericks have reached an oral agreement with Doug Christie.

He’ll soon sign a one-year deal reportedly worth $3 million, as Jackie must have liked what she saw on her visit to Dallas. It’s unclear as to what exactly his fantasy value will be with the Mavs, but we’re guessing it won’t be much.

Doug Christie is being courted by the Dallas Mavericks.

Shockingly, he won’t make a decision until his wife, Jackie, visits the city and checks out the schools. With the Christie’s, it’s all about Jackie and her mom, as Doug shares his home with both of them. We’re pretty sure some heavy scouting will also be done when they’re house hunting, to make sure there are no attractive females living in the neighborhood. We’re still waiting for the Christie’s reality show to hit the airwaves.

Magic waive guard Doug Christie under amnesty clause.

He’s probably headed to the Mavericks, if his wife says he’s allowed to.
