The Bucks have waived Justin Patton and EJ Montgomery.

Patton, a former first-round pick, struggled with injuries early in his NBA career and has failed to catch on with a team after getting back to full strength. Montgomery, on the other hand, joined the Bucks in training camp as an undrafted free agent. Neither player appeared in either of Milwaukee’s first two preseason games.

Kentucky freshman forward EJ Montgomery announced on Friday that he plans to submit his name for the 2019 NBA Draft.

Montgomery is the fourth underclassman from the 2018-19 Wildcats to declare for the draft, joining PJ Washington, Tyler Herro and Keldon Johnson. Montgomery appeared in all 37 games for the Wildcats during his freshman campaign, including making 10 starts but averaged just 3.8 points and 4.1 rebounds. He has until May 29 (10 days after the NBA Draft Combine) to make a final decision as to whether he wishes to remain in the draft or return to Kentucky.
