Brandon Davies is a candidate to start at power forward for Wednesday’s game as Nerlens Noel moves to center.
Coach Brett Brown was hesitant to commit to Davies at Tuesday’s practice even though he ran with the first team while Henry Sims ran with the second unit. When asked about Davies possibly starting, coach Brown said, “I don’t know. But what I do know is I don’t feel a prisoner to anything. I don’t. It’s not a knock on these guys.” Regardless, Davies makes sense as a flier in standard leagues while we can get behind you parting ways with Henry Sims. Check back before Wednesday’s game for an official update.

  • NYK Shooting Guard
The Knicks have waived Mychel Thompson, Oscar Bellfield, John Shurna and Henry Sims.
The main fantasy story here is that Chris Copeland will make the 15-man roster. Copeland is someone to watch in deeper leagues. Thompson did start three games for the Cavs last year, but he might need some injuries to other teams to catch on at the NBA level.

    Knicks sign C Henry Sims.
Sims is a training camp body and it would be a shock to see him stick with the team.
  • Center #30
The Hornets are expected to sign C Henry Sims to a 10-day contract, a league source confirmed to John Reid of The Times Picayune.
The Hornets lost F/C Jason Smith (shoulder) for the rest of the season and Sims should help provide some depth up front. Sims was with the Knicks in training camp but eventually landed with Erie of the D-League.

Hornets sign F Louis Amundson for the rest of the season.
Amundson turned down a second 10-day contract with the Bulls to get some real minutes in New Orleans. The team will not renew the 10-day contract of Henry Sims.

    Hornets waive C Henry Sims.
Sims was a stopgap and will likely head back to the D-League.
  • Center #30
The Hornets have signed PF/C Henry Sims out of the D-League.
Sims will play on a 10-day contract and his signing is merely insurance for the Hornets frontcourt now that Jason Smith (shoulder) is done for the season.
  • Center #30
Henry Sims started at center for the Sixers on Wednesday and had 10 points, six rebounds and a block in 23 minutes.
He played well and we’re guessing the Sixers are going to keep experimenting with their big men before settling on a starter. Arnett Moultrie didn’t score in 16 minutes tonight, while Byron Mullens could be the next man up, going for seven points and three boards in 17 minutes off the bench. None of the Sixers’ centers are worth using right now.
  • Center #30
Henry Sims and Hollis Thompson will start against the Magic on Wednesday.
They will join Michael Carter-Williams, James Anderson and Thaddeus Young in the first unit. Sims was the first man off the bench on Monday and there’s a good chance he’ll play most of the minutes at center for the Sixers tonight. Arnett Moultrie’s conditioning has been a hot topic while Byron Mullens’ low-post defense could use some work. Sims is worth a look in deep leagues.

Coach Brett Brown said C Henry Sims needs to get in shape.
Sims is the only true center on the roster, so it looks like he’s going to run with the starters. He got 23 minutes in Wednesday’s loss to the Magic, finishing with 10 points, six boards and a block. But in order to get more minutes, Sims is going to have to hit the treadmill. “He admitted candidly to one of our assistant coaches that he hasn’t played this many minutes in a long time,” Brown said. Sims should be on watch lists, not in fantasy starting lineups.
