The New York Knicks waived guards Jared Jordan, Demetris Nichols and Walker Russell, reducing their roster to the regular-season limit of 15 on Thursday.
Jordan and Nichols both had a chance to make the team, but Nate Robinson seems to have turned his game around, winning the MVP in the summer league and putting up nice numbers in the preseason. Fred Jones was another candidate to be cut, but Isiah Thomas is attached to him after drafting him for the Pacers several years ago.
  • NOP Point Guard
The Clippers selected point guard Jared Jordan out of Marist with the 45th pick in the draft.
His dad’s name is Michael, but that’s where the comparisons stop. He’s a decent sleeper pick and could stick with the point-guard deprived Clippers.
  • PHX Point Guard
The Knicks waived guard Dan Dickau on Monday.
Dickau will reportedly sign with the Clippers, who recently sent rookie Jared Jordan to the Knicks, where he will fight for a backup point guard role. Dickau could have some value with the Clips, but it would take an injury to Sam Cassell or Brevin Knight for it to happen.
  • PHX Point Guard
The Clippers are said to be targeting guard Dan Dickau once his contract is bought out by the Knicks.
“We are having conversations with the Knicks,” said Mark Bartelstein, Dickau’s agent. “We are hoping to have something resolved.” The Clippers sent rookie Jared Jordan to the Knicks, as they feel Dickau can give them immediate assistance. Dickau is expected to be waived by the Knicks on Monday.
  • PHX Point Guard
The Knicks are in the process of buying out guard Dan Dickau.
That will clear space for newly acquired Jared Jordan to compete for the third-string point guard job. That said, he’s still behind Stephon Marbury, Mardy Collins and Nate Robinson on the depth chart, so he may still be a long shot to make the team.
  • NOP Point Guard
The New York Knicks on Sunday acquired rookie guard Jared Jordan from the Los Angeles Clippers for cash considerations.
The Knicks are already going to have to cut some signed players and guard is their deepest position, so we’re not sure what this is all about. It could be a sign that another move is in the works, but Jordan will have no fantasy value this season, regardless of where he plays.
  • NOP Point Guard
The Hornets added guard Jared Jordan to their training camp roster on Friday.
The deal is almost certainly non-guaranteed. "[Jordan] has a lot of competition and he has a lot of players with experience that he will be going up against,” said GM Jeff Bower, “but he will be in a position where he can learn from the best point guard in the league.”
  • NOP Point Guard
The Hornets on Wednesday waived Jared Jordan and Courtney Sims.
That puts their roster at 14 players heading into the season.
