Appling

Appling’s new charges include: carrying a concealed weapon, resisting and obstructing police, third-degree fleeing and eluding and felony firearm. He is innocent until proven guilty, but the recent string of arrests will make a return to the NBA nearly impossible.

He was previously arrested at a strip club back in May with a loaded Ak-47, and this latest arrest comes days before he faces a hearing on weapons and drug charges for the first incident. His NBA days are likely over.

He had some success with the Magic in Orlando Summer League, averaging 15.6 points, 1.2 boards, 3.0 assists, 3.0 steals and 0.4 treys on 50.0 percent from the field. Appling is basically just a camp invite.

He wasn’t drafted last night after averaging 11.2 points, 3.0 boards, 4.5 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.0 triples in his senior season. The Blazers have a fairly deep summer-league roster, so Appling may not get too many minutes with the team.

Appling averaged 11.2 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 4.5 assists in his senior season with the Spartans. While there’s a remote chance he’s able to latch onto the Lakers as a third-string point guard, he’s not a name to target in any format.

He didn’t check in until the second half and likely wouldn’t have played if the Magic weren’t blown out. Appling looked good at times in Summer League for the Magic, but he’s not on the radar in almost any league.

He had a partially guaranteed deal with the Magic this summer, but he was waived prior to the season and has been playing the D-League. For now, Appling is not on the fantasy radar in most leagues.

He has played a total of 15 minutes in two appearances, so this doesn’t have any fantasy implications.

The 23-year-old rookie also picked up three fouls in his limited minutes, and there’s no reason to think he’ll be a reliable fantasy contributor at any depth.

Since joining the Magic, Appling has played a total of 15 minutes, and has picked up two consecutive DNP-CDs in his previous two outings. There’s no fantasy value to be had here.
