The 6'7" 2-guard once scored 50 points in a college game and has solid offensive skills. The Jazz could use some shooting and scoring punch, and we’re thinking Murphy has a very good chance of making the team. But he’ll need to add some bulk and muscle to his frame to make it in the NBA.

Signing Murphy would bring the roster up to 15, and despite his solid size at the 2-guard position and the general belief that he’ll wind up making the team, he’s not going to be on the fantasy radar.

Murphy and the team had reportedly “made progress” on contract talks, and it would be really surprising if the two sides can’t agree to terms in the near future.

Murphy has logged a grand total of nine minutes this season. He has no fantasy value in redraft or keeper leagues.

“We don’t want him to be a pig scorer,” GM Dennis Lindsey said. Earl Watson back in action along with the Jazz being banged up may also have something to do with the demotion. Murphy needs minutes and wasn’t getting them in Utah.

Murphy will soon rejoin the team, and this doesn’t affect his outlook in the slightest.

Congrats to the Murphy family for their new addition. This doesn’t impact Murphy’s fantasy value whatsoever, as he’s just focused on making the final roster.

GM Dennis Lindsey said that the contract isn’t quite done, but it sounds like the two sides should have an agreement in the near future. He’s a scorer, but it would be a surprise to see him wind up on the fantasy radar in his rookie season.

Murphy is a natural scorer but as a second-round pick, will simply be trying to make the opening-day roster for the Jazz.

After six weeks in the minors, Murphy is back. He’ll provide some depth with Mo Williams (thumb) out a couple months and Marvin Williams (knee) out at least three games.
