Lorenzo Brown has signed a contract to play for KK Crvena Zvezda in Serbia next season.
Brown played for the Raptors last season before being waived in January. He then joined the Guangzhou Long-Lions in China and averaged 25.3 points, 5.4 rebounds and 4.9 assists.
  • Point Guard #4
The Raptors have waived Lorenzo Brown.
His contract would’ve been guaranteed for the rest of the season if he was on the roster at the end of the day, but he’ll have to find work elsewhere. This move has no fantasy implications.
  • Point Guard #4
Lorenzo Brown played 15 minutes for the short-handed Raptors on Sunday, recording four points, three rebounds, three assists and one block.
Brown stepped up on a night the Raptors didn’t have Kyle Lowry (thigh) or Fred VanVleet (back) in the backcourt. The assists were a season-high for Zo, and if he can’t produce fantasy value without Lowry and VanVleet it might never happen.
  • Point Guard #4
Lorenzo Brown got extra run during Saturday’s blowout, finishing with 10 points on 5-of-9 shooting, three steals, two assists, one rebound and one block in 22 minutes.
Brown was a DNP-CD in the past two games and benefited from both the lopsided score and the absence of multiple teammates tonight. Leave him on the wire at any depth.
  • HOU Guard #5
Fred VanVleet (toe) is being listed as questionable for Friday’s game against the Suns.
FVV has spent the past four games on the sidelines, and since we haven’t seen any reports of him ramping up his activities at practice, he should be considered closer to doubtful for Friday’s game. Delon Wright and Lorenzo Brown will continue to split the backup PG minutes while he’s out.
  • FA Guard #3
Delon Wright’s minutes will be monitored in his regular-season debut on Wednesday vs. Minnesota.
Wright hasn’t played since straining his groin on October 10, so Nick Nurse will keep a watchful eye on him in his first game back. With Fred VanVleet (toe) questionable, and Wright likely to be limited, Lorenzo Brown could see most of the backup PG minutes. However, none of that means much with Kyle Lowry healthy.
  • Point Guard #4
Lorenzo Brown picked up two points and two assists in 12 minutes off the bench on Wednesday.
The additional run tonight was purely situational for Brown. Delon Wright (groin) was limited and Fred VanVleet (toe) was unavailable, so coach Nick Nurse expanded his guard rotation to include Brown. As tonight’s line indicates, he’s not an enticing fantasy target.
  • HOU Guard #5
Fred VanVleet (toe) will not suit up for Tuesday’s game against the 76ers.
This will be the fourth game in a row that FVV will be watching from the sidelines, which will translate to more minutes for Delon Wright and Lorenzo Brown. The Raptors take on the Suns on Friday, and for now, we’ll be considering VanVleet questionable for that one.
  • FA Guard #3
Delon Wright (strained left thigh) didn’t travel with the Raptors for Thursday’s game vs. New Orleans.
Wright got hurt on Wednesday but said afterward that he “doesn’t think it is anything serious.” That leaves us optimistic that he’ll play on opening night, but with Fred VanVleet resting there will be plenty of run for Lorenzo Brown on Thursday.
  • NBA Point Guard #1
Point guard A.J. Price has been invited to Timberwolves training camp.
The Wolves have 14 players under contract, but could waive Chris Johnson, who was signed by David Kahn for just $916,000, which would clear up two available spots. Price could easily win one of them, but will compete with Lorenzo Brown. And if Johnson is waived, SG Othyus Jeffers could be signed as a defensive specialist.
