Free agent forwards Marcus Fizer and Obinna Ekezie worked out for the Nets yesterday.
    The team was unimpressed.

Marcus Fizer served his one-game suspension Wednesday for pleading guilty to the unlawful possession of a handgun.
The incident occurred during Fizer’s days with the Chicago Bulls. Coach Terry Porter said that Fizer, who has been coming back from off-season knee surgery, would probably play on the upcoming Western trip.

The departures of Keith Van Horn and Mike James mean that Marcus Fizer and Erick Strickland have moved into the Bucks’ regular rotation and will get significantly more playing time.
GM Larry Harris and coach Terry Porter said the plan is to have Fizer back up Joe Smith at power forward and Strickland come off the bench to spell point guard Mo Williams. It’s a good situation for the players, but nothing that will bring fantasy value unless there’s an injury.

Marcus Fizer sat out practice Monday with a sprained right ankle, but he’ll be ready for tonight’s opener.
Fizer will be one of the Bulls’ top reserves.

The Bulls are going to place Marcus Fizer on the injured list because his knee still isn’t 100 percent.
Fizer has been able to play as he rehabs from a torn ACL, but he hasn’t been at full strength. Roger Mason Jr. will also go on the injured list and Kirk Hinrich and Linton Johnson will be activated.

Marcus Fizer could be waived if the Bulls add a reserve point guard on a 10-day contract.
Jannero Pargo, expected to clear waivers Tuesday after being released by Toronto, is one possibility. Another is Jemeil Rich, the current player of the week in the CBA. Rich is averaging 15.5 points and 2.3 assists for the Gary Steelheads.

Marcus Fizer could end up with the Hornets next season.
Fizer will be a free agent after the season and is interested in joining Tim Floyd, who coached him at Iowa State and with the Bulls, in New Orleans.

Bulls activated Marcus Fizer from the IL on Thursday.
Coach Scott Skiles said Fizer could see action given that both Jerome Williams and Eddie Robinson skipped practice. Williams is hobbled by pain from a recently removed ingrown toenail, while Robinson, who met with GM John Paxson after practice regarding his work ethic, is fighting a cold.

Marcus Fizer, who will become a free agent on July 1, likely will need a second surgery on his right knee.
Fizer originally tore his right ACL 15 months ago. He reinjured the knee in this year’s season finale, but it doesn’t appear that he tore the ACL again. “It’s too soon to tell how bad it is,” agent Henry Thomas said. “I don’t think next season is in jeopardy. I’m not sure if this changes anything with how we’ll approach free agency this summer.”

Marcus Fizer pleaded guilty to misdemeanor unlawful use of a weapon as part of a plea bargain that calls for him to serve 12 months of probation.
Fizer’s legal troubles aren’t going to help the free agent in his quest to land a job.
