The Bulls traded guard Eddie Basden for center Martynas Andriuskevicius.
Neither player will offer much in the way of fantasy value, but the Bulls felt they needed someone else other than Luke Schenscher to help back up Ben Wallace at center. Both players come in with D-League experience and will see very limited roles with their new teams.
  • Rookie Marty Andriuskevicius left yesterday’s summer-league game with back spasms after taking a hard fall.
He had four points and four boards before departing. Coach Kenny Natt had good things to say about the rookie afterwards. ''He’s really coming along,’' he said. ''He needs to get stronger, and we’ll be patient with him. He has the fundamentals that we thought he had. He’s a good shot-blocker and a heady player. Marty will be fine.’'

In his second stint in the D-League this season, Andriuskevicius averaged 2.7 points and 2.7 rebounds in just 10.7 minutes per game. In his seven games with the RimRockers, he’s averaged 6.7 points and 3.6 rebounds.
  • In three games since being reassigned to the Developmental League last week, Martynas Andriuskevicius is averaging 13.3 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.0 blocks.

The 7-2 rookie was re-assigned to Arkansas on March 16.

Andriuskevicius (thank god for cut and paste) has played only one minute this season.
  • Coach Mike Brown is considering sending Martynas Andriuskevicius to the NBA’s Development League.
The Lithiuaniun rookie has yet to play in a game this season. “We’ve thought about [sending him to the D-League],” Brown said, “but there are a lot of things from the coaching standpoint to think about. I think he’s learned a lot from practicing every day here.”
  • The Cavaliers are pleased with how rookie center Martynas Andriuskevicius is playing in the Developmental League.
Andriuskevicius is averaging 12.5 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.8 blocks in 22.3 minutes per game while shooting 54 percent in four games. With Zydrunas Ilgauskas, Drew Gooden, Donyell Marshall and Anderson Varejao in their depth chart, he isn’t likely to have a role this season with Cleveland.
  • Cavaliers re-called Martynas Andriuskevicius from the Developmental League yesteday.
The rookie averaged 9.3 points and 5.3 rebounds in three games with the Arkansas RimRockers. He’ll have no fantasy value during his first year.
