Craig Sager, the legendary TNT sideline reporter, passed away on Thursday at the age of 65 due to leukemia. The news rocked the NBA and sporting community, and there have been already several tributes to Sager.
As you do in a time like this, sometimes it’s best to remember the good things about a person rather than the pain of losing them as a way to pay your respects.
During part of their broadcast on Thursday night, that’s exactly what TNT’s “Inside the NBA” crew did.

Shaquille O’Neal, Kevin Garnett, Kenny Smith, and Charles Barkley reminisced for several minutes on Sager’s outlandish fashion.
Garnett spoke about the candid nature of the discussions he’d have with Sager on camera, and Barkley told a story about meeting Sager’s mom and getting put in his place after clowning on her son’s clothing.
“He was the first white guy I ever saw wearing colored gators,” joked Shaq.
The segment is worth watching, and added some much-needed levity to a sad day in the NBA.
