Are Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook friends? Yes, according to the Golden State Warriors star forward.

In a recent edition of the Bill Simmons Podcast, Durant said that he and Westbrook are still friends, they just don’t happen to talk all that often.

Of course, we all have friends that we leave and don’t talk to for long periods of time, right? Especially when that friend was your running partner on an NBA Finals-hopeful team for the better part of a decade.

I think we can all relate to that.

Here is what Durant said to Simmons, transcribed by the folks over at the San Jose Mercury News:

“I don’t think we ever stopped being friends,” Durant told Simmons. “We just stopped talking — but I don’t think we stopped being friends.”

Simmons asked if KD and Westbrook are speaking again.

“Not talking, nah, but I mean, I don’t think any… there’s no problems,” Durant said. “But I don’t think we ever stopped being friends.”

Cool, cool. Totally normal. I believe it.
