Aaron Gordon, the No. 4 pick of the Orlando Magic in the last draft, had foot surgery on Friday and he is out indefinitely.

From the Orlando press release:

Orlando Magic forward Aaron Gordon underwent a successful surgical procedure today to repair a fractured fifth metatarsal in his left foot, General Manager Rob Hennigan announced. Gordon was diagnosed with the injury following the Magic’s game on Nov. 15 at Washington. He will be out indefinitely and his return will depend on how he responds to rehabilitation.

This was not new news, but now it is official. This is the same injury that Kevin Durant had and the concern is this is a part of the foot that does not get a lot of blood flow so it can be slow to heal. Basically, expect them to keep him out for a long time.

Gordon had averaged 15 minutes a game and had looked pretty good as a rookie. This sucks for the Magic who are all about hope for the future and this is a step back.
