Yesterday, we relayed a report from Chad Ford of ESPN that the Cavaliers considered Andrew Wiggins their likely selection at No. 1 in the draft:
Ford is typically a reliable reporter, but so is ESPN’s Jeff Goodman, who wrote:
And so is Jason Lloyd of the Akron Beacon Journal:
In case you're wondering, Jabari Parker has been at the top of #Cavs draft board much of the season.

So what gives? If you want to split hairs, you could argue Chris Grant was the Cavaliers’ general manager “much of the season.” So, it might not matter which prospect topped Cleveland’s board “much of the season” now that David Griffin is in charge.
Most likely, the Cavs are sending out different spin as misdirection. Ideally, reporters are skilled in vetting their sources and knowing whom to trust, but that’s not always easy.
Trust this: You will hear more reports about the Cavaliers’ plan between now and June 26. Some of those reports will contradict each other. It’s up to you to determine whom you trust.
