Kent Bazemore is having a reasonably nice year for the Hawks.

He’s still not going to near his $19,269,662 player-option salary for next season on the open market next offseason. So, he probably won’t enter free agency.

Michael Scotto of The Athletic:

Kent Bazemore, another name who has drawn interest on the trade market, is leaning towards opting into his $19.3 million player option for next season, league sources told The Athletic.

Bazemore signed his current contract during the summer-of-2016 spending bonanza. He cashed in at the right time, and he’ll get his full reward.

The 29-year-old likely doesn’t fit the rebuilding Hawks. They’ll likely look to trade him before this deal ends, maybe before next month’s trade deadline. His high salary complicates a trade, though.
