Report: Pacers trying to trade Solomon Hill

The writing was on the wall when the Pacers declined Solomon Hill’s $2,306,019 team option for 2016-17.

Here’s more evidence Indiana is done with Hill, the No. 23 pick in the 2013 NBA draft.

Marc Stein of ESPN:

The Pacers, amid their stunning 12-5 start, have made swingman Solomon Hill available via trade, according to league sources.

Hill has played just 44 minutes in seven games last season. That’s a big drop from last season, when Hill made 78 starts.

The difference? Paul George.

With George healthy, Indiana just doesn’t need Hill. Unfortunately for him and the Pacers, I’m not sure another team does either.

Hill has shown some ability to drive to the rim, but the rest of his game is lacking. After four college seasons and two-plus NBA seasons, how much potential does the 24-year-old have left?
