During the lockout last summer, frustrated with a female referee at a charity game in Las Vegas, the Rockets’ Kyle Lowry threw a basketball at her, striking her. He was also verbally abusive, according to the charges filed against him for the incident.

The result of that misdemeanor case is Lowry entered a plea of no contest and has been ordered do 100 hours of community service and impulse-control management classes, reports the Houston Chronicle.

Lowry did later apologize to the woman, according to reports. Once he does the community service the case will be dropped.

Lowry is having the best season of his career, averaging 14.7 points and 8 assists a game to lead the rockets to a better than expected 12-10 record that has them in the playoff hunt in the West.
