Shawn Marion has won one NBA championship, and he’s chasing another one this season with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Now, he’s released his debut rap video. Appropriately, it’s called “I’m a Champion.” And it features T-Pain.
The song will be featured on an upcoming album called Full Court Press, Vol. 1, which will be released on December 9 and feature collaborations between NBA players (Iman Shumpert, Trevor Ariza, Stephen Jackson) and established rappers (The Game, Snoop Dogg, Bun B). There’s a song that features both Soulja Boy and Glen “Big Baby” Davis, which will be one of the better songs in the history of music, at least on paper.
Marion is a surprisingly decent rapper. The album is G-rated, so there are a lot of rhymes about hard work and hustle. That’s going to be the theme of the record. And it’s scientifically proven that every song that features T-Pain is 35 percent better than it would have been otherwise.
