Many of the names have already leaked in terms of who will participate in All-Star weekend’s Three-Point Contest, but the lineup became official with an announcement on Thursday.

The crew at TNT’s Inside the NBA did a blind drawing to see the order in which the participants will shoot, and the results are as follows:

1. Wesley Matthews

2. J.J. Redick

3. James Harden

4. Kyrie Irving

5. Stephen Curry

6. Klay Thompson

7. Kyle Korver

8. Marco Belinelli

This is arguably the greatest field of pure shooters ever assembled in the event, but the contest requires a certain level of speed in getting up shots, as well as a consistency in shooting form that makes it a pretty solid challenge. I got a chance to do it with the folks from Foot Locker (the event’s sponsor) earlier this week, and while I and the rest of the guys who participated are merely weekend warriors, the vast majority of us didn’t even get through the fourth rack in the one minute time frame allotted.

As a refresher, here are the rules of the contest, via official release:

In the two-round competition, five shooting locations are positioned around the three-point arc. Four of the racks contain four orange balls (each worth one point) and one multi-colored “money” ball (worth two points). The fifth rack will be a special “all money ball” rack, which each participant can place at any of the five shooting locations. Every ball on this rack will be worth two points. The players have one minute to shoot as many as the 25 balls as they can. The three competitors with the highest scores in the first round advance to the championship round.

The Harden-Curry matchup may be the most intriguing for fans of their respective teams, considering that they’re 1 and 1A at the top of the MVP race.
