Tornike Shengelia will sign a two-year deal with the Nets.
Shengelia, who can play both forward positions, was originally pegged as a player the Nets would stash overseas. In an amazing story of perseverance, he begged his way onto the Nets Summer League team to prove he was ready to come over to play in the NBA now, and took advantage of the opportunity. He was one of the most impressive performers in Orlando, averaging 10.2 points, 3.6 rebounds and shooting 53 percent from the field in five games. It’s a nice story, but Shengelia won’t have an impact in fantasy leagues next season.
