Vince Edwards scored 20 points on 8-of-12 shooting and had eight rebounds and two assists in the Rockets summer league win over the Clippers on Monday.

He was shooting just 20 percent heading into this one, but finally showed how well he can knock them down when he gets going, adding two 3-pointers on four attempts. Edwards will likely be a commuter between the G-League and the big club as the season goes on and really shows no fantasy value at the moment.

The Jazz selected Vince Edwards with the 52nd overall pick in the 2018 NBA draft, and traded him to the Houston Rockets.

Edwards started all 35 games for Purdue last season as a senior, averaging 14.6 points, 7.4 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.5 treys and 0.6 blocks, while shooting 47.6 percent from the floor, 39.8 percent from downtown and 83.3 percent from the free-throw stripe.

Vince Edwards shot 1-of-4 from downtown on Sunday, adding three rebounds, one steal and no other stats in 18 minutes off the bench.

The four-year player out of Purdue fits the stretch-PF mold, which could be especially handy if the Rockets part ways with Ryan Anderson before his deal expires in 2020. Edwards shot just 2-of-10 from the field in his Vegas debut (including 1-of-6 from deep), but that’s not a true reflection of his polished shooting -- just don’t expect him to help fantasy owners as a rookie.
