The Grizzlies have agreed to the draft rights to Wang Zhelin to the Lakers in exchange for Marc Gasol, a 2024 second-round pick and cash, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
The Grizzlies selected Wang Zhelin with the 57th pick in the 2016 draft, and it’s extremely unlikely the Lakers ever bring him to Los Angeles. LA made the deal to save $10 million and clear a roster spot. Memphis has agreed to waive Gasol, who is expected to retire from the NBA and remain in Spain.
