The Grizzlies selected Wang Zhelin with the 57th pick in the 2016 draft, and it’s extremely unlikely the Lakers ever bring him to Los Angeles. LA made the deal to save $10 million and clear a roster spot. Memphis has agreed to waive Gasol, who is expected to retire from the NBA and remain in Spain.

Zhelin is a back-to-the-basket seven-footer weighing in at 251 pounds. The Grizzlies are likely going to stash him overseas for a while, but we’ll track the 22-year-old prospect’s progress closely overseas.
