With the penultimate pick in the 2014 draft the Raptors drafted San Diego State SG Xavier Thames, but he was immediately traded to the Nets.
After shocking NBA observers by taking Bruno Caboclo at No. 20 overall, Raptors GM Masai Ujiri opted to trade away his final pick in the draft. There’s no reason to expect any fantasy relevance from Thames on the Nets’ deep veteran roster.

Nets prospect Xavier Thames has signed with Sevilla in the Spanish League.
Brooklyn will retain the draft rights to this summer’s No. 59 pick, but it’s uncertain if the 23-year-old guard will ever come to the NBA. He’s billed as a good shooter but didn’t help his cause in the Orlando Summer League, where he averaged 3.6 points on 26 percent shooting.

The Nets will not extended a non-guarantee tender to keep Xavier Thames.
He was in Spain last year and is now a free agent. Thames might get a camp deal with another team or he could be headed overseas.
