Auguste

Terms of the contract are not known, but it’s likely just a training camp deal. Auguste played for the Lakers during the summer league and averaged 14.0 points and 10.8 boards during his senior year at Notre Dame. Expect to see him in the D-League.

He’s the 16th player on the roster right now, so he’ll have to play extremely well in camp. Auguste is a 6'10" power forward, which could suggest his main competition might be Yi Jianlian.

“The physicality is definitely different from college, for sure,” Auguste said. “In training camp, it’s a little bit different from my Summer League experience too. There’s a lot more talent. We have some really good guys now that we have the vets here in addition to the young guys.” Auguste got a little bit of guaranteed money in his deal ($60K), but that won’t be a factor in deciding whether or not he makes the team. Given the frontcourt depth in Los Angeles, Auguste is staring at an uphill climb in order to make the cut.

If Auguste does go to the D-League, he has a $60K guarantee from the Lakers. The Lakers are down to 17 on their roster.
