Bills signed OL Alec Anderson to a one-year, $3 million extension through 2026.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport notes that Anderson played in every Bills game last year, notching six starts over the last two seasons. Anderson grades out surprisingly well as a run-blocker, earning a 76.2 PFF run-blocking grade via 237 qualifying snaps in 2024 and an 82.8 PFF run-blocking grade via 129 run-blocking snaps in 2025.
  • BUF Guard #66
Connor McGovern was taken to the locker room with a head injury in the AFC Divisional Round against the Broncos.
McGovern dove to try to recover a fumble by James Cook and was hit hard in the back of his head. He went into the medical tent and then walked into the locker room. Alec Anderson is replacing him, but playing on the road in Denver is a rough environment for a backup center.
  • BUF Tackle #70
Bills backup OT Alec Anderson is considered week-to-week after undergoing a knee scope.
A 2022 undrafted free agent, Anderson took his first pro snaps last season, encouragingly earning a 77.0 PFF pass-blocking grade (79 snaps) and a 75.8 PFF run-blocking grade (201). Hopefully, Anderson is back in time for Week 1. He provides valuable depth.
  • SEA Running Back #26
UCLA redshirt sophomore Zach Charbonnet was named PAC-12 Offensive Player of the Week after UCLA’s upset over LSU.
The former Michigan running back ran all over LSU, gaining 117 yards and a score on just 11 carries. Charbonnet has has been making the most of limited opportunities so far this season, with 223 total yards and four touchdowns on only 17 rushes, good for a 13.1 yards per carry average. Another UCLA player, Alec Anderson, also came away with honors as he was named Pac-12 Offensive Lineman of the Week.

UCLA redshirt freshman OT Alec Anderson was a “full-go” at practice on Saturday.
This is incredible as Anderson had surgery on his right leg just two weeks ago. It must have been a very minor cleanup procedure because Anderson is already wearing a blue jersey which means he is cleared to practice without limitations. Anderson is projected to be a starter for the Bruins and seems likely to suit up for their season-opener against Cincinnati.
  • BUF Tackle #70
UCLA redshirt freshman T Alec Anderson has already begun his rehab after undergoing right leg surgery on Tuesday.
Anderson (6'5/300) entered fall camp as the favorite to be UCLA’s starting left tackle, but his absence from practice puts that in doubt. HC Chip Kelly said Wednesday that he was told by the trainer that the injury isn’t that serious, and maybe the fact that Anderson has already begun his rehab is a positive sign. Filling in for the redshirt freshman at left tackle on Wednesday was true freshman Sean Rhyan.
