    Commanders released LS Camaron Cheeseman.
Cheeseman’s year-long struggles culminated with two terrible snaps on Sunday, including a groundball that he rolled to punter Treiss Way, which hit Way in the face and then led to Way getting injured when he had to scramble to land on the ball. Speaking after the game, Cheeseman seemed to know the writing was on the wall: “I mean, I’ve been worried all year. I haven’t been performing the way I’ve been wanting to. Most places, I probably wouldn’t be around still.” He is no longer still around Washington now either.
  • Washington Football Team selected Michigan LS Camaron Cheeseman with the No. 225 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Cheeseman was a top-10 long snapper prospect coming out of high school. After a red shirt freshman season, he stepped up as the snapper on extra points and field goals. By his senior season, Cheesman was also the snapper on punts. NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein notes that he still has some accuracy issues to work out on punts but sees him as a smooth hand on field goal and PAT attempts.
