    Colts re-signed CB Cameron Mitchell.
Mitchell spent the first three years of his career in Cleveland. He was released by the Browns early in the 2025 season and the Colts scooped him up. Mitchell went on to appear in eight games with the Colts. He totaled four pass breakups and two TFLs. Mitchell will be back as a depth option for the team in 2026.
  • CLE Cornerback #29
Browns designated CB Cameron Mitchell (hamstring) to return from the IR.
Mitchell was the 142nd overall pick in this year’s draft out of Northwestern after putting together two-straight collegiate seasons with PFF tackling grades of 83.0 and 87.7. The rookie appeared in eight games to start the season, starting one of them. In that time, he made nine tackles and had one pass defended. His return, when paired with the return of Browns’ starting cornerback Denzel Ward, should add depth to the Cleveland secondary for their playoff push.
  • IND Cornerback #43
Browns selected Northwestern DB Cameron Mitchell with the No. 142 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
Mitchell (5’11/191) was an unheralded three-star recruit who worked his way up to start every game he appeared in over the last two years while earning Honorable Mention All-Big Ten recognition in each. A student of the game, he played the majority of his reps outside and is adept at mirroring in the short-to-intermediate level thanks to his sharp change-of-direction ability. A well-schooled finisher who earned two-straight seasons with PFF tackling grades of 83.0 and 87.7, Mitchell has a very strong career 9.6% missed tackle rate. He ran an OK 4.47s 40-yard dash which is merely average speed for this class but made up for it with an excellent 4.06s shuttle run (91st%) and 6.89s 3-Cone (77th%) for an overall 8.85 RAS. Mitchell is aggressive when breaking on routes and likes to gamble, but will get caught with his hand in the cookie jar on occasion. He can fall prey to eye manipulation and doesn’t have freaky length, but Mitchell is a sound technician who should be able to carve out a niche in the NFL.
