Panthers signed Appalachian State RB Camerun Peoples.

Peoples (6’1/217) is one of the tallest running backs in this year’s class and was a regular contributor for Appalachian State in his final three seasons. Playing just nine games in 2022, Peoples was limited to a 101-593-5 rushing line but combined for 334-2,050-26 from 2020 to 2021. He averaged a solid 4.14 yards after contact per carry for his career and ran more than 80 percent of his attempts in a zone running scheme. In last year’s upset win at Texas A&M, Peoples was instrumental in helping take down the Aggies with 102 of his 112 yards coming after contact. A challenging player to bring down, Peoples’ average speed and underwhelming agility will likely limit his ability to create additional yards at the next level. His lack of receiving upside (11 career receptions) and special teams experience could make earning a roster spot difficult.
