    Broncos waived RB Cory Boyd.
Very much a fringe NFL talent, Boyd was the Bucs’ seventh-round pick last April. He was signed by Denver in November to add depth with a ton of tailbacks injured. He could find a spot on a practice squad in the fall.
  • FA Defensive Back #21
Bucs first-round pick Aqib Talib and seventh-rounder Cory Boyd reportedly got into a fight at the Rookie Symposium this week.
Talib and Boyd were reportedly “jawing at each other for awhile,” then came to fisticuffs during a Budget and Finances meeting. Math always made us angry, too. Boyd and Talib both had off-field concerns entering the draft, not that this fight is a big deal.
  • DEN Running Back
Bucs signed seventh-round RB Cory Boyd to a multi-year contract.
A South Carolina alum, Boyd ran for 903 yards on 180 carries for Steve Spurrier in 2007. He faces an uphill battle to make the regular season roster.
  • DEN Running Back
Bucs waived/injured RB Cory Boyd (knee).
Boyd couldn’t practice this spring and had no chance to make the Bucs, who are stocked at tailback. The seventh-rounder isn’t much of a prospect, either.
  • DEN Running Back
Bucs seventh-round RB Cory Boyd was seen in a knee brace at minicamps over the weekend.
Boyd walked off the practice field 20 minutes into Sunday’s workout. Coach Jon Gruden said it was “minor,” but the rookie can’t afford any injuries.
  • DEN Running Back
Broncos signed RB Alex Haynes, formerly of the Ravens.
It appears they’ve chosen him over Cory Boyd, who remains on the practice squad. Haynes, an ex-NFL Europe player, has been almost strictly a special teamer in his career. Broncos RBs are always sleepers for fantasy value, but it would really be stretching it to think that Haynes will do much.

Selvin Young exited Thursday night’s win over the Browns on crutches and is reportedly doubtful to play in Week 11 at Atlanta.
Peyton Hillis could be the favorite to carry the load against the Falcons’ No. 22-ranked run defense next week and needs to be claimed in all leagues. P.J. Pope could also be involved with Cory Boyd perhaps being activated from the practice squad to take Ryan Torain’s (torn ACL) spot on the roster.
  • FA Running Back #46
NFL Network’s Adam Schefter reports Broncos RB Ryan Torain is expected to be placed on injured reserve with what is thought to be a torn ACL in his left knee.
It’s a shame. Torain was effective early in Thursday’s game before suffering the injury. With Michael Pittman and Andre Hall out for the season and Selvin Young clearly not recovered from his groin injury, the Broncos will be in the market for fresh legs. Fullback Peyton Hillis, recently activated P.J. Pope, and practice squad rookie Cory Boyd are the only healthy options at the moment.
  • DEN Running Back
Broncos signed RB Cory Boyd to their practice squad.
The Buccaneers seventh-rounder will provide depth after the Broncos lost Michael Pittman and Andre Hall for the season. Deep leaguers will want to keep an eye on Boyd in case of further injuries to the depleted backfield.
  • DEN Running Back
Broncos coach Mike Shanahan anticipates promoting RB Cory Boyd from the practice squad this week.
Clearly, Shanahan doesn’t think Peyton Hillis (hamstring) is going to play soon and Selvin Young’s (groin) status remains up in the air. Boyd, a rookie, was the Bucs’ seventh-round pick out of South Carolina last April.
