Undrafted CB Dontrell Johnson was waived to clear room. The Jags are looking to put heat on disgruntled franchise player Josh Scobee. A seventh-round pick in 2008, Coutu’s first and thus far only career field-goal attempt came with Buffalo in Week 17 last season. He missed, though he did convert three extra points.

The former Bengals sixth-rounder recorded 16 tackles and two interceptions in 12 games with Cincinnati, Indy, and Jacksonville last season. CB Dontrell Johnson, undrafted out of Murray State, was re-signed to take Trent’s roster spot.

Johnson briefly latched on with Jacksonville after going undrafted out of Murray State. The Lions might see him as a candidate to help in the return game. As a junior, Johnson averaged 22.8 yards per punt return and scored twice.
