Rams S Kam Curl (leg) and CB Emmanuel Forbes (hamstring) left Tuesday’s practice early.
Curl left the Rams’ practice early with a lower leg issue while Forbes exited with a hamstring injury. Head coach Sean McVay indicated there would be more clarity on the defensive backs’ injuries later this week. Curl has started 69 of 76 career games, including each of his 16 games played in his first season with the Rams last year. An absence from him would dent the Rams’ secondary on the back end. Forbes played in two games for the Rams since arriving from Washington last season and is behind Ahkello Witherspoon and Darious Williams as depth at cornerback. Derion Kendrick and Cam Lampkin would see more opportunities if Forbes missed a part of training camp.
  • LA Cornerback #25
Rams declared QB Stetson Bennett, WR Tyler Johnson, CB Emmanuel Forbes Jr., RB Cody Schrader, OL Dylan McMahon, and OL Warren McClendon Jr inactive for Week 16 against the Jets.
No surprises here. Forbes has continued to be inactive since being claimed off waivers a month ago.
  • LA Cornerback #25
Rams declared QB Stetson Bennett, CB Emmanuel Forbes, RB Cody Schrader, OLB Brennan Jackson, OL Dylan McMahon, and OL Warren McClendon Jr. inactive for Week 14 against the Bills.
No surprises here and nobody who will move the needle much for fantasy managers this weekend.
  • LA Cornerback #13
Rams claimed CB Emmanuel Forbes off waivers.
Forbes was waived by the Commanders last week after failing to impress the new regime in his second season. The former No. 16 overall pick was one of many reaches made by former head coach Ron Rivera during his four-year tenure, and didn’t make it even two full seasons with the team that drafted him. Forbes will have a chance to revive a career that has quickly gone awry now that he’s with the Rams.
  • FA Defensive Back #13
Commanders waived CB Emmanuel Forbes Jr.
The team attempted to trade the failed former first-round pick at the trade deadline but were unsuccessful, ultimately resulting in his release. He will first pass through waivers before being able to sign with an interested team.
  • WAS Defensive Back #13
Commanders declared CB Emmanuel Forbes, QB Jeff Driskel, CB Marshon Lattimore, LB Dominique Hampton, and OG Chris Paul inactive for Week 12 against the Cowboys.
Unlike the Cowboys, the Commanders enter Week 12 at nearly full-strength. While they’re still waiting for the debut Lattimore, who they traded for at this year’s deadline, the Commanders will have all of their core players intact against a woeful Cowboys team.
  • WAS Defensive Back #13
Commanders declared DE Clelin Ferrell, CB Emmanuel Forbes, QB Sam Hartman, S Darrick Forrest, TE Colson Yankoff, LB Dominique Hampton, and OG Chris Paul inactive for Week 3 against the Bengals.
Forbes was initially listed as questionable after avoiding a stint on injured reserve this week, ultimately failing to do enough throughout the week to play against the Bengals. He is now only 10 days removed from a surgery to repair a torn UCL in his thumb, meaning he could be at risk of missing Week 4 as well.
  • WAS Defensive Back #13
Commanders coach Dan Quinn said CB Emmanuel Forbes (thumb) will not go on injured reserve.
Forbes suffered a torn UCL in his thumb in the Commanders’ Week 1 loss to the Bucs and underwent surgery on it today. By opting to leave him off injured reserve, the Commanders are indicating they expect him to return within four weeks, the minimum time a player is required to spend on IR. The young corner will still miss a few weeks, leaving an already undermanned Washington secondary without one of its starters.
  • WAS Defensive Back #13
Emmanuel Forbes will undergo surgery to repair a torn UCL in his thumb Friday.
Forbes injured his thumb during Week 1 against the Buccaneers, and while he was a full participant in Wednesday’s practice, the 2023 first-round selection will go under the knife Friday. It’s not known how much time Forbes will miss at this point and John Keim of ESPN noting that the surgery will determine how long Forbes misses, but it seems probable that an operation like this will cause a multi-week absence.
  • WAS Cornerback #13
Commanders declared CB Emmanuel Forbes, FB Alex Armah, G Curtis Hodges, WR Mitchell Tinsley, and DE James Smith-Williams inactive for Week 13 against the Dolphins.
Forbes will remain sidelined with an elbow injury. He did not practice this week. Washington’s secondary is as vulnerable as any in the league right now.
