Coach Nick Saban knows Gibson’s considerable talent after watching him at Georgia. The 2005 fourth-rounder is a project, but one we would not be surprised panned out well.

Gibson, a fourth-round pick, was a player we were high on coming out of Georgia. He reportedly didn’t ''get it’’ at Steelers camp. He’ll be snatched up quickly, possibly by former SEC foe Nick Saban.

We’ve heard the fourth-rounder from Georgia could be in danger of losing a roster spot. He’s got a lot of talent, so he’d never make it through waivers to Pittsburgh’s practice squad.

The fourth-round pick has a good chance to make an impact as a rookie. He is the favorite for the No. 4 receiver slot and kick return duties.

Look for Randle El to remain the team’s punt returner, while also moving into the starting lineup at wide receiver.

We suspect Joe Horn will start because of his contract, but other spots in the pecking order are up for grabs. Incumbent starter Michael Jenkins will be pushed by rookie Laurent Robinson and Roddy White. Fred Gibson and gunner Adam Jennings may be competing for the final spot on the team.

Gibson, who’s always had the talent but lacked consistency, has taken advantage of his opportunity in Atlanta so far. He’s still not a lock to make the club but if he does, the 6-4 Gibson could be an option in the red zone.

Gibson always had all the tools but the attitude and consistency has never been there. He’s a long shot to defeat Marques Hagans for a roster spot.

Third-rounder Laurent Robinson and local favorite Fred Gibson will push him for time. He’s still arguably Atlanta’s most talented receiver, and Robinson may mainly be a return man, so White’s spot should be relatively secure.

Not a good sign for his career. Gibson had impressed Atlanta’s new staff at pre-camp workouts and was competing at a very unproven position for the Falcons. The former Steelers fourth-round pick appears to be close to done. It turns out he missed a meeting.
