Texas Tech senior WR Kaylon Geiger announced on Monday that he is entering the NFL Draft.
After teammate Erik Ezukanma announced his decision to enter the NFL Draft, Geiger (5'10/180) announced his decision to do the same. After having two successful seasons at Troy, Geiger played well for the Red Raiders. He caught 45 passes for 550 yards and one touchdown. At the next level, Geiger likely fits best as a slot receiver.

Texas Tech senior WR Kaylon Geiger caught seven passes for 82 yards in Texas Tech’s 23-20 win over WVU.
Geiger (5'10"/170) also threw a pick on a trick play gone wrong. Geiger led the team in catches and yards, but no catch was more important than his 42 yard gain in the 4th quarter. The ball was severely underthrown, but Geiger managed to adjust well and come down with the ball anyways. That play got Texas Tech into WVU territory instantly, and allowed the Raiders to just keep the ball on the ground, milk clock and kick the field goal to win. Geiger will need to keep making clutch catches next week against TCU.

  • Wide Receiver
Texas Tech senior WR Kaylon Geiger caught five passes for 100 yards and a touchdown in a 70-35 loss to Texas Tech on Saturday
Geiger (5'10/180) was one of the lone bright spots for the Red Raiders. He did most of his damage on a 75-yard bomb from QB Henry Colombi in the third quarter. After transferring from Troy in the offseason, he finished with his second consecutive 100 yard performance for the Red Raiders. As they look ahead to next Saturday’s game against West Virginia, Geiger will be a player to watch as an X-factor.

  • Wide Receiver
Troy senior WR Kaylon Geiger transferred to Texas Tech.
A move up to the Power Five felt inevitable for Geiger (5'10/170) once he threw his name into the portal. He caught over 140 passes in his two seasons at Troy and proved himself one of the most electric YAC threats in the country. Now at Texas Tech, Geiger should be able to bring all that same YAC ability to Big 12 defenses. Tech’s leading WR last season only caught 46 passes and it would be no surprise to see Geiger top that in 2021.

  • Wide Receiver
Troy senior WR Kaylon Geiger entered the NCAA transfer portal.
Geiger should instantly be a hot name on the transfer market. In two years of play at Troy, Geiger (5'10/170) racked up a stunning 141 catches for 1,625 yards and eight touchdowns. That touchdown total probably could have been higher if the Troy offense as a whole was functioning at a higher rate and most consistently getting to the red zone. In any event, Geiger is an explosive, elusive pass-catcher who could be an immediate contributor at a Power Five program, if that is where he decides to transfer to.

  • Troy senior WR Khalil McClain caught six passes for 92 yards and a touchdown in Saturday’s 20-17 loss to Middle Tennessee.
Middle Tennessee once again had trouble slowing down McClain (6'4/227), who caught six passes for 75 yards and two touchdowns in the first meeting between the two teams (a 47-14 Troy win on September 19). But they did manage to keep the senior wide receiver from scoring twice this time around, which was one of the differences as the Blue Raiders held on for the 20-17 victory. McClain is up to 27 receptions, 325 receiving yards and five touchdowns (tied with Reggie Todd for the team lead) on the season. What also helped Middle Tennessee was slowing down Todd (three receptions for 17 yards) and Kaylon Geiger (four receptions for 34 yards), Troy’s top two receivers. The Trojans will look to rebound next Saturday at Appalachian State.

  • Wide Receiver
Troy senior WR Kaylon Geiger caught eight passes for 126 yards in a 38-10 victory over Arkansas State on Saturday.
Geiger (5'10/170) started out slow, posting only 39 receiving yards over his first two games. However since a seven catch, 121 yard, one touchdown performance against Texas State on October 10, he has solidified himself as the go to receiving option for Troy. His impressive showing today marks the third time in the last four games that the sensational senior has eclipsed the 100-yard mark, recording 27 catches for 415 yards and a touchdown in that span. Geiger will look to keep the good times rolling next Saturday when Troy hosts Georgia Southern.

  • Wide Receiver
Troy senior WR Kaylon Geiger brought in seven passes for 100 yards in Saturday’s 31-29 win over Eastern Kentucky.
Geiger stepped up with a 100-yard performance for the second week in a row. Geiger led the team in every receiving category aside from touchdowns, including having the team-long 37-yard reception. Geiger, just 5-foot-10 and 170-pounds, was the team’s leading receiver last year, too, so his performance picking up this season is no surprise. Troy will play Georgia State next week.

  • Wide Receiver
Troy senior WR Kaylon Geiger caught seven passes for 121 yards and a touchdown in a 37-17 win over Texas State this Saturday.
Geiger (5'10/170) had his best game of the season, as he had only caught eight passes for 39 yards coming into today. Luckily the Texas State secondary is a remedy for any ailing passing attack, as Troy ripped them for 338 passing yards on the day. The accomplished senior caught 77 passes for 873 yards and five touchdowns in 2019 and he will try to keep the positive momentum rolling next week when Troy takes on a vulnerable Eastern Kentucky defense.

  • Wide Receiver
Troy junior WR Kaylon Geiger brought in seven passes for 110 yards in Saturday’s 49-28 win over Georgia Southern.
Make it five games for Geiger (5'10/170) with at least 100 yards this season, including this week’s performance making it two in a row now. Geiger, though he didn’t catch any of Troy’s three touchdowns, was the engine for the passing offense. His 54-yard reception was the longest catch from either team on the day.
