Boerigter

Boerigter has the prototype size and speed to be a major factor in the Kansas City offense. He has at least two weeks to run with the starting team while Johnnie Morton is out. If he can impress, Boerigter has a chance to start and be a fantasy factor in 2004.

Another team could sign him, but it’s doubtful. Boerigter could challenge for a starting job next season, but he has to stay healthy.

No word yet on the extend of Kennison’s injury, but it sounds significant. As a starter, Boerigter becomes quite the fantasy sleeper (again). He struggled through injuries last season, but still is capable of emerging as an excellent deep threat in his third season.

Barf. Just when Boerigter has a chance to become a starter, he gets injured again. This won’t be a major issue if he returns healthy, but that’s been difficult for the third-year wideout.

Boerigter should force his way into Kansas City’s wideout rotation if healthy. Samie Parker, Boerigter, and Freddie Mitchell may cancel each other out.

He’s been passed by a rookie or two on the depth chart and has looked stiff in workouts. Boerigter scored eight times as a rookie in 2002, but hasn’t seen the end zone since and is just about done as a professional.

Boerigter has an outside shot to make the Colts roster because they don’t have great depth at wideout, but we suspect he’ll be released again in a week.

Boerigter, released by the Packers on Tuesday, would battle to be Indy’s fourth wideout. His main competition would be Aaron Moorehead.

A favorite fantasy sleeper of many in 2003, Boerigter’s career could be over. He has good measurables, but just isn’t a naturally gifted receiver.

With Robert Ferguson, Rod Gardner, and a pair of rookies on the roster, Boerigter looks quite likely to get cut at this point.
