    Jets waived WR Marcus Henry.
Just like last year, Henry will probably make it through waivers. He was the Jets’ sixth-round pick in 2008. The Jets also cut tight ends Kevin Brock and Jack Simmons.
  • FA Wide Receiver #16
Brad Smith has evened the race with Chansi Stuckey to be the Jets’ third receiver, according to Newsday.
Stuckey has upside, but Smith knows the offense better and is practicing well. Stuckey has three catches for 44 yards through two exhibitions. Smith hasn’t caught a ball yet, while rookie Marcus Henry has four grabs for 42.

    Jets waived WR Marcus Henry.
The former Kansas Jayhawk should make it through waivers to the practice squad. Henry was the Jets’ sixth-round draft pick this past April.
  • CAR Wide Receiver
Jets signed sixth-round WR Marcus Henry to a multi-year contract.
Henry will likely struggle to get down the field in the NFL, but he has exceptional ball skills and could be a factor as a possession weapon. As a likely bottom-of-the-depth chart guy, he needs to produce on special teams first.

David Clowney suffered a collarbone injury during Saturday’s game and left the stadium with his arm in a sling.
Clowney underwent multiple tests on Sunday but the results have not been revealed. He’s had a remarkable preseason, catching eight passes for 222 yards and two touchdowns, but if there’s a fracture he could miss a good chunk of time. Rookie WR Marcus Henry would probably benefit from the freed up roster spot.
  • FA Wide Receiver
The Jets have decided to keep seven wide receivers on their roster while David Clowney (shoulder) avoided injured reserve.
In addition to Clowney, the team will keep Brad Smith, Chansi Stuckey, Wallace Wright, and Marcus Henry behind starters Laveranues Coles and Jerricho Cotchery. If Clowney can get healthy, he has a chance to climb back up the depth chart to No. 3 receiver later in the season.
  • CAR Wide Receiver
Jets selected Kansas WR Marcus Henry with the No. 171 overall pick in the draft.
Henry is a big (6'4/207) possession prospect. He averaged 18.8 yards a catch as a senior, but will likely struggle to beat faster defensive backs down the field leaving the Big 12. He needs to improve as a blocker.
  • CAR Wide Receiver
The Jets are reportedly “very close” to signing rookie WR Marcus Henry.
Henry, the team’s sixth-round pick, played college ball at Kansas. The Jets have signed one other rookie -- seventh-round offensive tackle Nate Garner.
  • NYJ Wide Receiver
Jets released WR Laveranues Coles, WR Marcus Henry, WR Aundrae Allison, and DE Rodrique Wright.
Coles finished the preseason with four catches for 19 yards, running with the second- and third-team offense. The 11th-year veteran promised his latest stint with the Jets would be his “last hurrah” as an NFL player, so it would not be surprising if he retired. In fact, it may be the best decision for everyone, as Coles has nothing left. Henry, Allison, and Wright all have been underachievers in the NFL after sparkling college careers.
