Panthers signed WR Marquez Stevenson, formerly of the Browns.
Stevenson was a 2021 sixth-rounder with the Bills and did not play at all in the NFL last season, but he offers some special-teams upside as a returner. He finds a new home fairly quickly after the Browns waived him on May 9th.

    Browns waived WR Marquez Stevenson.
A kick returner for the Bills in 2021, Stevenson didn’t see the field last season in Cleveland. The special teamer will likely catch on with another team this summer ahead of training camp.

Bills second-year WR Marquez Stevenson will be sidelined multiple weeks with a foot injury.
Stevenson, a sixth-round pick out of Houston last year, injured his foot last preseason and ended up playing just six offensive snaps and another 40 on special teams across five games as a rookie. He’s now looking likely to miss most of this preseason. It’s not a good sign for his chances of making the team.

Bills activated WR Marquez Stevenson (foot) from injured reserve.
Sidelined since the preseason, the sixth-round rookie will try to earn a role on special teams as soon as he can crack the Bills’ game-day roster.

Sixth-round rookie WR Marquez Stevenson left the Bills’ preseason game with a foot injury and was spotted in a walking boot on the sideline.
Stevenson flashed his speed on a 79-yard punt return touchdown earlier in the game, but a foot injury forced him into the locker room for an X-ray (which came back negative, per the Bills’ PR team) after that. The Houston product returned to Buffalo’s sideline in a walking boot during the fourth quarter. He’s not on the fantasy radar in redraft leagues, but it’s a situation worth monitoring. It’d be unfortunate if his career began with a major injury.

Bills selected Houston WR Marquez Stevenson with the No. 203 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Via Dane Drugler of The Athletic, “A three-year starter at Houston, Stevenson played the H receiver in head coach Dana Holgorsen’s Air Raid scheme, lining up both inside and outside. He was underdeveloped when he arrived at Houston, which led to early injuries, but he grew into a playmaker the last three seasons, including 12 offensive plays (10 catches, two carries) of 50-plus yards. A lean, dynamic athlete, Stevenson has the speed that looks different than everyone else on the field. His sudden feet and body control allow him to snap out of his breaks, but his feel and instincts as a route runner aren’t on an NFL level yet. Overall, Stevenson isn’t a physical, catch-point winner, but he has the explosive acceleration and long speed to be a downfield threat and can add value as a return man.”
