The former Jaguar and Steeler will take the place of Robert Thomas, who was placed on injured reserve Tuesday.

The St. Petersburg Times reports the person is Nick Schuyler, who was fishing with Corey Smith, Marquis Cooper, and Will Bleakley late Saturday. Schuyler’s father has confirmed he is alive and talking. There is no word on the other men that were on the boat. The search has been going on for over 24 hours.

The Coast Guard has yet to find the fishing boat. In addition to Cooper and Corey Smith, the other two men on board were identified as “Will Bleakley” and “Nick Schuyler.” The latter two played college football at South Florida.

The report from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said that Cooper, the boat’s owner, attempted to accelerate to dislodge the anchor, which had become stuck, and instead caused the boat to capsize.

The Coast Guard’s search remains ongoing, but it appears the report was a false alarm. ESPN’s Sal Paolantonio recently spoke to one of Cooper’s family members, who confirmed they still don’t know where Cooper is.

“We especially want to thank the members of the U.S. Coast Guard, the U.S. Air Force, and the Florida Fish and Wildlife agency for their extraordinary and courageous efforts to rescue Marquis and his friends,” Cooper’s father said. “One day the pain will be a little less burdensome. Right now, we just need time to be together and remember Marquis.”

Cooper couldn’t shake a hamstring injury and wasn’t helping Pittsburgh through two weeks. Frazier will take his place on the kickoff coverage unit.

The former Buc, Steeler, and third-round pick has been a bust in the NFL.

To make room, Pittsburgh waived reserve cornerback/safety Harrison Smith. Cooper will attempt to make the club as an outside linebacker and gunner.
