Iowa State signed three-star JUCO DE Matthew Leo.
The Cyclones were successfully able to flip this Australian product from Arizona. “Leo passes the eyeball test and has a lot of physical tools to develop,” ESPN opined in a scouting report. “He is still a bit raw but has a very high upside.” The 6-foot-7, 260-pounder is blessed with an ideal frame. Leo is the No. 43 overall JUCO recruit according to ESPN, and the No. 51 JUCO import according to the 247Sports composite.

Iowa State HC Matt Campbell said that junior DE Matthew Leo (undisclosed) could take a redshirt for the season.
The Cyclones landed Leo (6'7/260) as a raw-but-promising three-star recruit out of the JUCO ranks this winter. He was working on special teams early in the year before suffering the undisclosed injury concern against Akron in the third game of the campaign. Campbell said that the team would not make a decision on a redshirt for another week or two.
