Banged up and in desperate need of a win, the Los Angeles Rams (2-4) head to Las Vegas on Sunday looking to remain relevant in the playoff race as they face the Raiders (3-3) at Allegiant Stadium. The Rams enter Week 7 tied with Arizona for last place in the NFC West, while the Raiders are 3-3 and sit third in the AFC West.
The Rams are coming off a frustrating 18-16 loss to the Cardinals last weekend in which Matthew Stafford threw two touchdowns, but could not do enough to overcome six, Chad Ryland field goals. Los Angeles is entering a stretch of four games against the Raiders, Chargers, Commanders, and Cardinals. They need to at least win three of those four because they then play the Packers, Chiefs, 49ers, Cowboys, and Seahawks. The Raiders opened the season with three straight wins but have now lost three straight to fall three back of the Chiefs in the AFC West. Last week they lost 33-30 to the Bills. Kirk Cousins passed for 313 yards and two touchdowns in that game, but Las Vegas’ defense had few answers for Josh Allen.
Historically, these franchises do not meet often, but the Rams won the most recent matchup, defeating the Raiders 20-15 at SoFi Stadium in Week 7 of the 2024 season. In that game, Kyren Williams rushed for two touchdowns and the Rams forced four turnovers, including two interceptions by Jaylen McCollough.
Let’s dive into the numbers and see if we can’t find an additional sweat or two.

The latest odds as of Friday courtesy of DraftKings:
- Moneyline: Los Angeles Rams (-192), Las Vegas Raiders (+160)
- Spread: Rams -3.5

The number has collapsed due to the plethora of Rams’ injuries. The injuries on defense are probably the reason the Total has risen a couple points after opening at 46.5.

Our model calculates projections around each moneyline, spread and over/under bet for every game on the NFL calendar based on data points like past performance, player matchups, betting trends, and weather forecasts.
Once the model is finished running, we put its projection next to the latest betting lines for the game to arrive at a relative confidence level for each wager.
Here are the best bets our model is projecting for Sunday’s game between the Rams and the Raiders:
- Moneyline: NBC Sports is leaning towards a play on the Raiders on the Moneyline.
- Spread: NBC Sports is recommending a play on the Raiders +3.5.
- Total: NBC Sports is staying away from a play on the Game Total of 48.5.
Here’s why the Raiders +3.5 is the best bet:
The gap is far narrower than the spread suggests, and in one critical area the Raiders have a real edge. Las Vegas ranks 3rd in quarterback pressure rate (34.72%), 4th in quarterback hit rate (12.44%), and 10th in sack rate (6.74%) — they get after the passer. The Rams rank 26th in sacks (8), 27th in quarterback hits (12), and 25th in quarterback pressures (37) — they cannot generate pressure. The spread is a matchup play against a Rams’ team missing Davante Adams, Poona Ford, Kobie Turner, Myles Garrett, and their kicker, Blake Grupe. The line has collapsed under the weight of those injuries from -7.5 to -3.5, and Las Vegas holds 83 percent of the money. The Raiders are 5-1 against the spread this season and held Buffalo to 5.4 yards per play while the Rams allowed 7.6.
