It’s only Week Three, but it’s starting to feel real late to a lot of NFL teams.
The Buffalo Bills were the latest team to change quarterbacks when Chan Gailey announced that Ryan Fitzpatrick would get the start against the Patriots this Sunday.
“We’re looking for a spark,” said Gailey.
Gailey started Edwards in every preseason game and gave him the most first team snaps throughout training camp. Despite that, Gailey has given up on Edwards quickly, just like Dick Jauron did last year.
Edwards completed 29-of-52 passes for 241 yards with one touchdown and two picks in two games. That’s a 4.6 yards per attempt average, which is well below his career mark.
Gailey said Fitzpatrick will be the starter moving forward; it’s not a temporary move. (At least until they try Brian Brohm.)
