The demise of Revis Island possibly has been greatly exaggerated.
Tom Curran of CSNNE.com, appearing on Thursday’s PFT Live, said he doesn’t buy the idea that Revis will play only on the left side of the defensive formation, with Brandon Browner on the right.
Instead, Curran is convinced that Revis will roam, lining up in different positions and giving the Patriots the kind of flexibility they need to implement coach Bill Belichick’s tried-and-true habit of taking away what the other team does best.
No light was shed on the issue last night, because Revis didn’t play in the preseason opener against Washington. Look for Revis to eventually hit the field, and to be lined up wherever Belichick needs Revis against any given team, and on any given snap.
