Jake Long will play for Dolphins Thursday night

J. Long

Despite a report that he could do “serious damage” to his shoulder by playing through a labrum tear, Dolphins tackle Jake Long will suit up on Thursday night against Bears.

ESPN’s Rachel Nichols reports Long will play. He’ll wear a harness to stabilize the shoulder.

Julius Pepper won’t stay in one spot on the Bears defensive line, but watching his battles with Long should make for good television on Thursday night. If you get NFL Network.

UPDATE: Tyler Thigpen will start at quarterback for the Dolphins. Cory Procter will make his first start of the year for Miami at center.

For Miami, the following players are inactive: wideout Roberto Wallace, safety Chris Clemons, cornerback Nate Ness, tackle Matt Kopa, defensive end Clifton Geathers, center Joe Berger, tight end Jeron Mastrud, and third quarterback Chad Henne.

For the Bears, the following players are out: third quarterback Caleb Hanie, running back Kalil Bell, linebacker Pisa Tinaisamoa, offensive lineman Edwin Williams, tight end Desmond Clark, defensive end Barry Turner, defensive end Corey Wootton, and cornerback Josh Moore.
