After a hacker was able to tweet from the NFL’s official Twitter account today, the league says it’s attempting to ensure that nothing like that happens again.
In a statement, the league said that it has contacted the proper authorities and will work to make its online communications more secure.
“The NFL Twitter account was hacked. We have engaged law enforcement to look into the matter. We are reviewing and strengthening our cyber-security measures,” the league’s statement said.
The hacking on Tuesday consisted of a message falsely claiming that NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell had died. That was followed by two other tweets referencing the hacking before the league was able to re-take control of the @NFL Twitter account.
