No Giovani Bernard tonight for Bengals, so it’s Jeremy Hill time

When the Bengals face the Browns tonight, they’ll do it without one of their offensive mainstays.

Bengals coach Marvin Lewis told Ross Tucker of SiriusXM NFL Radio that running back Giovani Bernard would not play tonight because of a hip injury.

That means a heavier dose of running back Jeremy Hill, which might not be a bad thing.

Hill had 154 yards and two touchdowns for the Bengals last week against the Jaguars, and faces a Browns run defense which has allowed some big numbers this year. The Browns are 31st in the league in run defense, allowing 140.2 yards per game and 4.8 per carry.
