The NFL draft may be heading to Green Bay.

Packers President Mark Murphy announced at a shareholders meeting today that the team has told the NFL it wants to host the draft in 2019, 2020 or 2021.

The biggest issue facing Green Bay would be whether there are enough hotel rooms in the area to accommodate the event. The NFL has rules requiring enough hotel rooms to accommodate all the team and league personnel, players, media and fans who attend the draft, and Green Bay may not have enough rooms.

After decades in New York City, the draft moved to Chicago the last two years. The league hasn’t announced where the draft will take place in 2017, although Philadelphia is believed to be an early favorite. Several other communities have expressed an interest in hosting future drafts, which the NFL is increasingly turning into a traveling road show that is its biggest offseason event.
